🤓 Meet the Humans Behind the Magick ✨
The Nerdie Matters Collective began with a conversation. Two therapists, both a little nerdie, both a little magick-minded, sat together and admitted what so many of us feel: being a therapist can be isolating, and the boxes we’re told to fit into rarely leave room for creativity, connection, or the messy magick of being human.
Out of that conversation grew an idea: what if there was a space where therapists, healers, storytellers, and seekers could come together to break out of those boxes? What if professional development could sit alongside archetypes and fandoms, mentorship could meet magick, and community could be built not on competition but on collaboration?
That spark ✨ became The Nerdie Matters Collective — a shared hub for authenticity, community, and creativity. It’s a place where nerdie minds and magick hearts meet, where weird is welcome, and where transformation happens not in isolation, but together.

Jen Hyatt (she/her) is a multi-state licensed psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and Reiki Master/Teacher whose work integrates neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identity, parts work, grief, and holistic healing. As the founder of Storm Haven Counseling & Wellness, a group private practice in California, Jen has built a sanctuary for seekers, deep-feelers, and those walking brave paths of self-discovery. She brings vision, authenticity, and a devotion to community into every layer of the collective.
Dr. Katie Estberg (she/her) is a registered psychological associate and Reiki Master whose work bridges the symbolic and the somatic. Her clinical experience spans trauma-informed care, identity development, and integrative therapy. Dr. Katie brings heart, depth, and intuitive clarity to the collective, weaving spaces that honor both the science and the soul of healing.
Together, Jen Hyatt and Dr. Katie Estberg crafted Thread & Tether as a choose-your-own-adventure deck for the soul. No gatekeeping. No guru vibes. Just resonance, reflection, and the sacred permission to be human.

✨ The Collective Origin Story ✨
The Nerdie Matters Collective (TNMC) was born out of two big truths:
- Therapists, healers, and storytellers need community just as much as the people they serve.
- Magick happens when nerdie minds, creative hearts, and collective power come together.
What started as a collaboration between The Nerdie Therapist (Jen Hyatt) and Magic Over Matters (Dr. Katie Estberg) has grown into a movement: a shared hub where professionals and seekers gather to connect, learn, and grow.
We didn’t want another stiff, cookie-cutter professional space. We wanted something bold, weird, heartfelt — a place where archetypes meet ethics, fandoms meet therapy, and creativity meets community.
✨ Our Ethos ✨
At TNMC, we honor three threads that weave through everything we do:
✨ Authenticity — Come as you are, shadows and quirks included.
🌱 Community — No therapist, healer, or seeker should have to do this work alone.
🎨 Creativity — Pop culture, archetypes, storytelling, and magick aren’t extras — they’re the fuel for transformation.
✨ Join the Collective ✨
We’re not here to fit in — we’re here to reimagine, to belong, to grow, and to stir up a little magick along the way.
Welcome to The Nerdie Matters Collective.

Why We’re Weird (On Purpose)
We embrace the nerdie, the magickal, and the heartfelt because they open doors to belonging.
And we believe growth is better (and way more fun) when shared.
We believe therapy doesn’t have to stay trapped in sterile boxes.
We believe weird is just another word for authentically human.

What You’ll Find Here
TNMC is always evolving (because, honestly, so are we). At its core, it’s a space shaped by authenticity, community, and creativity — where therapists, healers, storytellers, and seekers gather to share wisdom, spark dialogue, and reimagine what it means to grow, both personally and professionally.
Here, mentorship meets magick, curiosity fuels connection, and belonging takes root. The Nerdie Matters Collective isn’t about fitting into boxes; it’s about creating spaces where the nerdie, the heartfelt, and the transformative can thrive side by side.
