The Nerdie Matters Collective
Collaboration, Participation & the Weaver Role
Our Mission
The Nerdie Matters Collective (TNMC) exists to cultivate meaningful connection, creative exploration, and sustainable community among therapists and wellness practitioners. Rooted in authenticity, nervous-system awareness, and intentional design, TNMC is a space where professional growth and embodied belonging coexist.
We value depth over polish, coherence over scale, and collaboration grounded in shared purpose. TNMC is built with care, discernment, and long-term sustainability in mind.
What TNMC Is (and Is Not)
TNMC is a distinct entity with a clearly held mission, voice, and operating structure.
It is not a shared branding umbrella, an open marketplace, or a container for merging multiple independent businesses. Collaboration is welcomed, but TNMC maintains a clear spine to protect clarity, sustainability, and trust within the community.
This page exists to create transparency and alignment before participation begins.
Audience & Scope
TNMC is designed primarily for therapists and wellness practitioners.
Unless an offering is expressly noted as public-facing, events and programming are intended for this professional audience. This distinction supports appropriate containment, shared expectations, and relational safety.
By default, TNMC avoids mixed-audience offerings, as blending practitioner spaces with general public events tends to dilute purpose, create confusion, and weaken the integrity of the container.
Brand, Voice & Identity
TNMC holds its own distinct voice.
While founders and collaborators may each maintain independent platforms and businesses, TNMC functions as a separate ecosystem with its own tone, language, visual identity, and messaging. This separation is intentional and foundational.
TNMC founders, Katie and Jen each operate their own platforms. TNMC exists as a third, shared entity with a unified voice that participants are invited to work within, not override.
Marketing & Messaging
All marketing for TNMC offerings lives within The Nerdie Matters Collective.
When TNMC invites a therapist or wellness practitioner to collaborate or host an offering, marketing is intentionally customized to reflect that individual’s work, tone, and professional presence. This process is thoughtful, relational, and collaborative.
At the same time, all marketing remains anchored in the TNMC voice and brand identity. Customization does not replace or supersede the TNMC voice. It is woven into it to ensure cohesion, clarity, and trust with the TNMC audience.
Collaborative input is welcomed, and tone or aesthetic may be adapted for specific events. Final marketing decisions are guided by alignment with TNMC’s mission, vision, and values to prevent dilution or mixed messaging.
Decision-Making & Business Practices
Decisions within TNMC are made intentionally and with best business practices in mind.
Many of the operational, financial, and strategic considerations that inform decisions occur in the background and may not always be visible. While not every factor is externally shared, all decisions are made with care, discernment, and deep intentionality, balancing community values with sustainability and ethical stewardship of the collective.
Pricing & Sustainability
Pricing within TNMC is set with sustainability in mind.
Fees account for marketing, site costs, operational overhead, and the time and energy required to hold high-quality, well-contained experiences. While TNMC values accessibility and community building, pricing models that compromise financial viability are not adopted.
Sustainability is understood as essential to ethical, long-term community care.
Paying It Forward
The Nerdie Matters Collective occasionally hosts community offerings that are available at no cost.
These offerings are possible because TNMC charges for other events and experiences. Fee-based programming allows us to cover operational costs, compensate labor, and sustain the collective in a way that also creates space to offer select gatherings as a form of community care and accessibility.
Paying it forward is a value of TNMC. It is held intentionally and responsibly, not as an expectation placed on individual Weavers or collaborators, but as a collective practice made possible through sustainable business decisions.
Community & Ecosystem
TNMC is committed to community building through a network of vetted and trusted therapists and wellness practitioners.
This network forms the TNMC ecosystem. Relationships within the collective are built on mutual respect, shared values, and professional integrity. TNMC prioritizes quality, alignment, and trust over rapid expansion or visibility for its own sake.
The Weaver Role
A Weaver is an invited collaborator within The Nerdie Matters Collective.
The Weaver role is not staff, leadership, or employment. It does not imply ownership, decision-making authority, or open-ended participation. Weaver involvement is offering-specific and defined by clear scope and agreement.
Participation as a Weaver is invitational, intentional, and revisited as alignment and capacity evolve.
Community Context
TNMC is a professional community and relational ecosystem. It is not a substitute for therapy, supervision, consultation, or crisis support.
Peer connection and mutual respect are encouraged. Each Weaver remains responsible for their own clinical, ethical, and professional practice.
Therapeutic Boundaries & Referral Pathways
TNMC events and offerings are not therapy and do not replace individualized therapeutic care.
If experiences arise within an event that would be better tended to within a therapeutic or clinical setting, the Weaver agrees to notify TNMC leadership so that appropriate referrals and resources may be offered. This may include experiences related to trauma processing, diagnostic concerns, mental health symptoms, clinical focus areas, or situations requiring individualized assessment, containment, or follow-up care.
Weavers are not expected to provide therapeutic intervention, assessment, or crisis support within TNMC events unless explicitly contracted and appropriately licensed to do so within that specific context.
This boundary exists to protect participants, Weavers, and the integrity of the collective.
Professional Integrity
Weavers are expected to practice within their scope, licensure, training, and ethical guidelines.
TNMC reserves the right to pause or discontinue collaboration if professional or ethical standards are not upheld or if alignment shifts in a way that compromises the integrity of the collective.
Public Representation
Weavers may reference their collaboration with TNMC in ways that are accurate and mutually agreed upon.
Participation does not imply endorsement of all services, views, or offerings outside the specific TNMC collaboration, nor does it grant authority to broadly represent TNMC without consent.
Emotional Boundaries
TNMC does not expect Weavers to provide unpaid emotional labor, crisis support, or ongoing availability beyond their agreed role.
Presence and participation are welcomed, but not obligatory. TNMC is committed to being invitational rather than extractive.
Confidentiality & Discretion
TNMC values discretion.
Experiences shared within events, gatherings, or collaborative spaces are treated with respect and care. While TNMC is not a therapy container, Weavers are expected to uphold basic confidentiality and to refrain from sharing others’ stories or experiences outside the space without consent.
Feedback & Repair
TNMC values direct, respectful communication.
Concerns, questions, or misalignments are addressed through conversation rather than assumptions or public channels. Repair is approached with care, clarity, and mutual respect.
Decision Authority
While collaboration and input are welcomed, final decisions regarding programming, pricing, marketing, and structure rest with TNMC leadership. This ensures clarity, alignment, and long-term integrity.
Scope & Duration of Participation
Participation does not confer ownership, co-branding rights, guaranteed promotion, or decision-making authority beyond what is explicitly agreed upon.
Weaver participation may be time-limited or offering-specific and is revisited as alignment, capacity, and needs evolve.
Capacity & Resourcing
TNMC operates within defined energetic, logistical, and financial capacity. Support, collaboration, and expansion are offered when aligned and appropriately resourced and may shift over time.
Alignment & Continuity
If alignment changes for either party, TNMC reserves the right to revisit or discontinue collaboration in a way that is clear, respectful, and minimally disruptive.
A Living Ecosystem
TNMC is an evolving ecosystem.
Structures, offerings, and roles may shift over time as the collective grows. Changes are made intentionally and with care, always grounded in the mission, values, and long-term sustainability of the collective.
Intellectual Property
TNMC retains ownership of its original concepts, language, frameworks, rituals, and branded materials unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Who Thrives as a Weaver
Weavers who thrive within The Nerdie Matters Collective tend to value:
• Clear structure alongside creativity
• Collaboration without ownership expectations
• Professional integrity and scope awareness
• Community built slowly and intentionally
• Working within a shared voice rather than individual branding dominance
TNMC is best suited for practitioners who appreciate both freedom and form and who understand that structure is a foundation for trust, not a limitation.
What Being a Weaver Is Not
Being a Weaver does not mean:
• Becoming staff, leadership, or a representative of TNMC
• Receiving guaranteed visibility, promotion, or income
• Having decision-making authority within the collective
• Using TNMC as a substitute for personal platforms, marketing, or clinical practice
• Providing therapy, supervision, or crisis support within TNMC spaces
This clarity exists to protect both the Weaver and the collective.
The Weaver Invitation Process
Becoming a Weaver is an intentional, relational process.
Expressing interest is a way to begin a conversation, not an application. TNMC does not operate on open enrollment. Interest is reviewed with care, considering alignment, capacity, and current ecosystem needs. Invitations are extended selectively and thoughtfully.
TNMC is not built for urgency. Timing, capacity, and alignment matter more than speed.
A Note on Scope & Responsibility
TNMC is a community and collaborative ecosystem, not a clinical practice or treatment provider. Participation does not create a therapeutic, supervisory, or employment relationship unless explicitly stated in writing.
In Closing
The Nerdie Matters Collective is a curated, intentional ecosystem with a clear spine.
Participation is invitational, values-aligned, and grounded in both creativity and containment. Structure is understood as a form of care, and clarity is what allows the magick of community to deepen rather than fracture.
We believe the most sustainable communities are built by people who can hold both imagination and responsibility at the same time.
If you feel resonance with both the vision and the boundaries described here, we welcome your thoughtful interest.
